You will all be happy to know after my second post op doctor’s visit, I feel so much better. I had to go back a second time because I could not breathe. I had a blockage in my nasal cavity, a big dried up blood clot.  Once the ENT removed that and cleaned out my sinuses again, all was good.

I hope you are all staying nice and warm in this chilly winter weather. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor hail, nor snow stopped The Cochcton Republican Club from serving up their annual chicken barbeque dinner on Election Day. I have to say it is the best chicken barbeque around.

I am so sorry there was not a column last week, but I was in Wayne Memorial Hospital ER once again.  This time, it was my infected sinuses pressing against my optical nerve. It felt like my eye was going to pop out of my head. Another CATscan and more antibiotics, and I am very glad to tell you that on November 2, I had the sinus surgery.

We are truly blessed with gorgeous weather. This October, I had a busy weekend with friends up from Queens. When I was out and about on Friday, I ran into Pam and Bob DeMan at the bank. I enjoy talking to Bob, he is one heck of a character.

I just had a great weekend down in Queens with my sister and her family. We are not going to be together for Thanksgiving. So we had a fake Thanksgiving on Saturday. It was great; got to meet my niece’s new boyfriend and my nephew’s new girlfriend. Then on Sunday, I had brunch with one of my cousins and my youngest brother was there.

I had my follow up CATscan on Friday and it was one of the hardest tests I’ve ever had to take. They made me lay on my stomach and had my chin fixed in a certain way that I could not breathe. I was told to breathe in from my nose and let out. I just keep on breathing and saying my prayers.

Another trip to the ER, this time for my throat, Thank God it was not strep; just the start of a nasty cold. Yes, I had been resting and drinking plenty of fluids. I know so many who have this cold, and they say it’s a bad one.
