ELDRED, NY — Saying that he hoped not to miss anyone, Highland Supervisor Jeff  Haas tried to thank all of the town officials and volunteers, both organized and individually, who left their own homes and families to help their neighbors during the storms and related emergencies during the period of March 2 to 11.

Former Highland Supervisor Andrew Boyar argued that even before site plan review, Millennium Pipeline earth disturbance at the Route 55 compressor station site has gone well beyond its stated earth disturbance levels. Boyar said that actual “temporary” earth disturbance appears to exceed the 27.8 acres Millennium reports for the 80-acre site.

School safety discussed at Eldred

ELDRED, NY — Citing the number and importance of the issues before them, particularly regarding safety and the upcoming budget, the Eldred School Board agreed to meet twice monthly through June at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.

Students make rash of threats

ELDRED, NY — In the wake of the shooting of 17 high school students and staff in Parkland, FL, at least three student threats have been investigated in recent days by the New York State Police.

An Eldred student was charged on February 26 with making a terroristic threat.
