Lumberland looks at solar alternative

GLEN SPEY, NY — Solar energy proponents want Lumberland officials to consider a new energy provider alternative that New York State has made available, which could provide cheaper, renewable energy.

Lumberland town clerk Virginia “Ginny” Horn recorded her last regular town board meeting on December 13. Horn, who has served as clerk since 2002, did not seek re-election and is retiring. “Thanks for all the years. I’m going to miss everyone, but I’m looking forward to retirement,” Horn said.

Lumberland budget hearing scheduled

GLEN SPEY, NY — The Lumberland Town Board will be accepting public comment on the preliminary 2018 budget at the November 1 public hearing, to take place in the town hall at 7:30 p.m.
