SHOHOLA, PA — A local arts group is cooking up a “cure” for cabin fever: the “Cabin Fever Celebration.” It is a multi-disciplinary community event sponsored by the Barryville Area Arts Association that will feature artwork, poetry, performance art, sculpture, and music—much of it created just for this occasion.

HONESDALE, PA — Sounds Like Teen Spirit is an open-mic night on January 12, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. that is designed to provide an opportunity to showcase the talent of our community’s youth. School-aged students are encouraged to share their performing art on stage at The Cooperage.

Start the new year outdoors

LIBERTY, NY — The sixth annual New Year’s Snowshoe/Hike at Walnut Mountain will take place on Monday, January 1, 2018 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Choose a beginner hike along wide, graded carriage roads or an intermediate hike that includes single-track mountain bike trails to the summit.


The beautiful grey stone that makes up both interior and exterior of St. Peter’s was donated by wealthy patron and parishioner, John O’Neil, in 1898.

Sullivan County and the surrounding region are well known for many reasons, including our rich history. As Americans healed from the wounds of the Revolutionary War, folks began migrating to the wide open spaces of what had been dubbed the “Catskills” by Dutch settlers who had arrived in the 17th century.

As Hanukkah winds down and I hear the faint ringing of sleigh bells approaching, memories of holidays past once again flood my reverie. I made a conscious decision this year to avoid the “Bah Humbug” and embrace all things “Merry and Bright” and so far… all is well.

HONESDALE, PA — Robinson & Rohe will bring “The Longest Winter: A Christmas Concert and Singalong” to The Cooperage on Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m. The two have been presenting the holiday performance at venues around the Northeast for the past 10 years.
