Grace Episcopal hosts free Thanksgiving dinner

HONESDALE, PA — Grace Episcopal Church will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day at 12 noon. The free dinner will feature turkey and all the fixings; all are welcome. The church is located at 827 Church St., at the corner of Ninth Street.

Tell me a story

Thanks to Mom and the ritual of bedtime storytelling, one of my earliest recollections is drifting off to sleep hearing “Charlotte’s Web” read aloud, chapter by chapter, and the building excitement anticipating how the story might unfold.

Damascus native daughter plans puppet show in Haiti

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Lucille Jan-Turan, the daughter of frequent River Reporter contributor Ramona Jan, grew up in Damascus, PA and holds a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from College of the Atlantic.

Anime club at the library

MONTICELLO, NY — The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library, 479 Broadway, is hosting an Anime Club. Come by on the second and fourth Thursday’s of each month to watch anime, discuss manga and connect with other fans. Teens ages 12 to 18 are welcome. You’ll decide what anime to watch together and share recommendations.
